Posted 10 January 2012 - 07:34 PM. Hi there, I am trying to use my microsoft keyboard which has a ps2 connection on my dell computer which only contains usb slots. I purchased ps2 to usb adapter
After hours of usage (I can't pinpoint how long, but it is generally hours of usage), my PS/2 Keyboard would stop working for a brief moment (like 1-2 seconds), reconnect by itself. When this happens, my keyboard starts acting slow. When I type, it doesn't feel as responsive. Like when I press and hold one button down it would:
Here’s a quick guide on running the Windows 10 keyboard troubleshooter to fix the keyboard typing the wrong characters issue: Press Windows key + R to open up a new Run command. Next, type or paste “ ms-settings:troubleshoot ” and hit Enter to open the built-in Troubleshooter.

The keyboard provided two options of using either a PS/2 or a USB plug with a USB-MiniUSB or a PS/2-MiniUSB cable. That is an absolute no-no and can damage the PS/2 interface. PS/2 is not a PnP device. Check the keyboard connector key and pins for damage and try again, plugging the keyboard in with no power to the system, i.e. disconnected from the wall socket or powered off at PSU if it has a switch. If that doesn't help, try a different keyboard - some
These keyboards support both USB and PS/2 natively and switch modes when the adapter is connected. Using this adapter is no different from using a PS/2 keyboard, because keyboards that work with the adapter are PS/2 keyboards.
Opencore & Desktop PS2 Keyboard support. So I have installed Catalina with OpenCore based on the Dortania guide and almost everything except my PS/2 keyboard works fine. As per the guide, I only included the PS/2 driver but then the keyboard is not detected beyond the opencore boot menu. I temporarily used a generic USB to PS2 converter, which
